What should I avoid after a facial?Updated 2 hours ago
For the first 24–48 hours, it's best to avoid:
- Direct sun exposure — skin is more sensitive post-treatment, so wear SPF if you head outside
- Heavy makeup — let your skin breathe and continue absorbing your treatment products
- Exfoliants or active ingredients (retinol, AHAs/BHAs) — skip these until your skin has settled
- Sweating/heat — hold off on intense workouts, saunas, or steam rooms
- Touching or picking at your skin — hands carry bacteria that can cause irritation or breakouts
